Emotional Realism Art
My works focus on portraits of people and animals, emphasizing the depiction of emotional states and moods.
The fascination with realistic drawing and the attention to detail associated with it give me the opportunity to
create new realities that cannot be seen in the original photograph. This is a challenge I always enjoy taking on.
In contrast to a classical photographer, my drawings are not only about the depiction of reality but rather
the creation of a new emotional perspective. They convey emotions and human experiences in a subtle yet powerful way that touches and carries away the viewer.
Through this, my works differ in their techniques and approaches from those of classical photography.
For me, a photograph is an important inspiration and orientation for my artistic work. By transforming it into a drawing, I open up a new emotional perspective for the viewer.
The procedure
When I look at a photo, I discover invisible and subtle elements that remain hidden to many at first glance.
So, it is these elements that are later highlighted in my drawing.
Therefore, reference photos must be coherent for me.
Some photos are rejected because I do not draw only what is seen, but also the invisible and subtle elements,
while others are rejected because the image quality is not sufficient.
When I start drawing, I work in sections, extracting the facial expressions and other features.
In the end, my drawing often looks like a photo but goes beyond that to show a subjectively perceived reality.
